The Legacy Academy staff is dedicated to providing an enjoyable & safe play environment for the children who attend its youth programs. Nearly all of the staff are either college graduates or current college students at the University of Wisconsin or Edgewood College. Owner Tom Baggot comments that the staff share a common interest in working with kids and take pride in providing the attending children with positive role models.


Tom Baggot

The Legacy Academy Activity Center is owned and managed by Tom Baggot, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin degreed with a B.S. in economics. Tom is a native of Wisconsin Dells and, prior to starting the Legacy Academy in September, 2007, had earned a living in corporate real estate for several years, most recently as a lease negotiator at Cingular Wireless / ATandT in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jim Kreul

Jim Kreul, Manager of Legacy Academy, has supervised children since January, 2013. Born and raised in Madison, Jim holds degrees in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his duties at Legacy, Jim covers local film events as a freelance writer and Legacy Newsger. He taught college courses in film studies for several years in Wilmington, NC before returning to friends and family in Wisconsin in 2012. He appreciates the challenges and rewards of providing guidance and support for children collecting jokes he overhears from students.

The Facility

The Legacy Academy is a social and meeting place for its member families and also endeavors to make entertaining and enjoyable youth activity programs available to area families at reasonable prices. Our versatile 6,000 square foot facility includes recreation rooms, padded activity floors, three-level Castle and Treehouse Playsets, a jumping platform and landing pad, gymnastics tumbling mats and training bars, spring boards, climbing ropes, swing sets with toddler seats, a rock climbing wall, a Super Strike bowling alley, a climbing net, a tire swing, hoppity balls, a Lego play table, two large screen Nintendo Wii consoles, karate equipment, NBA Hoops, a Milk Jug Toss game, regulation and kiddie basketball hoops, play houses, bean bag and ring tosses, jump ropes, and several free table games (e.g, Dynamo air hockey, ping pong, darts, foosball, Super Chexx bubble hockey, skeeball, shuffleboard, and pool tables), and other play equipment. The academy seeks to bring quality Summer Camp experiences to children between the ages of 7 to 12 as well as a birthday party program and a Youngsters Open Gym program that is available to all children up to twelve years old. In addition, we offer all-day care to children 7 - 12 years old on weekdays when area schools are not in session. These youth programs primarily serve resident families in the metro area that includes Madison, Fitchburg, and Verona but are also available to the general public living outside of the greater Madison area.
