Tom Baggot, Owner Legacy Academy

Tom Baggot

The Legacy Academy Activity Center is owned and managed by Tom Baggot, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin degreed with a B.S. in economics. Tom is a native of Wisconsin Dells and, prior to starting the Legacy Academy in September, 2007, had earned a living in corporate real estate for several years, most recently as a lease negotiator at Cingular Wireless / ATandT in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jim Kreul, Manager of Legacy Academy, has supervised children since January, 2013. Born and raised in Madison, Jim holds degrees in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his duties at Legacy, Jim covers local film events as a freelance writer and Legacy News. He taught college courses in film studies for several years in Wilmington, NC before returning to friends and family in Wisconsin in 2012. He appreciates the challenges and rewards of providing guidance and support for children collecting jokes he overhears from students.

Does the Legacy Academy still offer Before School, After School, or Summer Camp programs for elementary school-aged children?
No, we regret to convey that these programs were discontinued as of September 1, 2016 after several years of successful operation.

Are facility tours available?
Yes, the academy is open by 9:00 am daily and we are pleased to provide a facility tour any day upon request. The academy also hosts a daily Youngsters Open Gym program which is open to the public 365 days a year. Please call us at (608) 270-9977 or email us at Manager@LegacyAcademy.info to schedule a showing of our Fitchburg facility at your convenience. Encompassing 8,000 square foot two-level facility, our versatile indoor playground facility is one of the largest children's recreation venues in Dane County.

Does the Legacy Academy offer an Youngsters Open Gym Program?
Our Youngsters Youngsters Open Gym program is open to the public and is offered 365 days a year though the Youngsters Open Gym hours vary by the season. Preschoolers and other pre-teen children are welcome to participate. On-site supervision of children by an adult relative or nanny is required of any children under the age of 7. The user charge for each two-hour Youngsters Open Gym session is $6.00 per child with no charge for supervising adults or tots under the age of one. Punch cards good for eight child-visits may be purchased for $40.00 (a 20% discount off our regular admission fee). Current Open Gym Hours:
Weekdays (Monday thru Friday): 9:30 am - 5:00 pm;
Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): 9:00 am - 11:00 am.

The admission fee of $6.00 per child covers a play period of up to two hours.

Is the Legacy Academy available for use as a Field Trip destination for youth groups and other organizations?
Yes, our large indoor playground often serves as a fun field trip destination for kids during the school year or summer. Our usual admission fee for up to a two-hour visit is $5.00 per child for groups of ten or more children. Visiting groups are also welcome to bring their own lunches or snacks to the academy. Is the Legacy Academy available to host parties for Children's Birthdays and other special events?
Yes, the Legacy Academy may be rented for birthday parties, baby showers, holiday parties, family reunions, neighborhood gatherings, teen parties, and other special group events. Parties of up to 80 attendees may be comfortably accommodated. Prices are:

First Floor Private Party Two-hour Private Party - $160.00. 50% deposit due upon reserving.
Second Floor Private Party Two-hour Private Party - $120.00. 50% deposit due upon reserving.
Upstairs/Downstairs or Full Access Private Party Two-hour Private Party - $250.00. 50% deposit due upon reserving.
Open Gym Party Semi-Private Party - $6.00 per child.

What payment options are available?
We accept cash, checks, and major credit and debit cards.

If my children play at the Legacy Academy am I implicitly providing my consent for their photos to be taken?
Yes, Legacy does reserve the right to take photos and video of children and adults while at the academy. These recorded likenesses may be used in media or advertisements at the academy's discretion without notice or compensation to the users of our facility.

The Facility

The Legacy Academy is a social and meeting place for its member families and also endeavors to make entertaining and enjoyable youth activity programs available to area families at reasonable prices. Our versatile 6,000 square foot facility includes recreation rooms, padded activity floors, three-level Castle and Treehouse Playsets, a jumping platform and landing pad, gymnastics tumbling mats and training bars, spring boards, climbing ropes, swing sets with toddler seats, a rock climbing wall, a Super Strike bowling alley, a climbing net, a tire swing, hoppity balls, a Lego play table, two large screen Nintendo Wii consoles, karate equipment, NBA Hoops, a Milk Jug Toss game, regulation and kiddie basketball hoops, play houses, bean bag and ring tosses, jump ropes, and several free table games (e.g, Dynamo air hockey, ping pong, darts, foosball, Super Chexx bubble hockey, skeeball, shuffleboard, and pool tables), and other play equipment. The academy's daily open gym sessions, birthday party program, and field trip visit program are all available for participation by children from tots up to age 12. These youth programs primarily serve resident families in the metro area that includes Madison, Fitchburg, and Verona but are also available to the general public living outside of the greater Madison area.
